Grease an 8x8 inch cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper. Grease the parchment paper.
Put the butter in a bowl and melt in the microwave. Mix in the garlic and 1 teaspoon of dried parsley.
Pour the butter into the baking dish.
Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and the remaining teaspoon of dried parsley in a mixing bowl.
Stir in the buttermilk to get a thick batter.
Gently fold in the cheese and bacon with as few strokes as possible.
Pour the batter into the baking dish and spread it evenly.
Use a knife and score the bread so it makes 9 pieces.
Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for about 7 minutes. Then turn the temperature down to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and continue to bake for about 20 minutes. The bread will have risen and be golden when it's ready.
Let it cool for 10 minutes in the dish then turn it out onto a wire rack to finish cooling. Serve warm or room temperature.
